Henriette Farkas is Professor of Allergology and Clinical Immunology at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. She serves as Director of the Hungarian Angioedema Center of Reference and Excellence (ACARE). She holds a Ph.D. in ENT, and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences awarded her a DSc in Clinical Immunology and Allergy.

She is a board member of the Committee of the Hungarian Allergology and Clinical Immunology Society and a member of the Regional Medical Advisory Panel (RMAP) of HAE International (HAEi), the International HAE Working Group, the World Allergy Organization Steering Committee for Angioedema, and the Steering Committee of ACARE. She also serves as Honorary President of the International Nurses Organization for HAE.

Professor Farkas founded the International C1 Inhibitor Deficiency and Angioedema Workshop and the Central-Eastern European HAENETWORK Project. She has supervised 52 student scientists and has been the tutor of 13 Ph.D. students.

Her research focuses on the different types of angioedema. She is a member of the editorial board of Frontiers in Allergy and has authored more than 600 scientific publications on angioedema.

Professor Constance Katelaris is a leading allergist and immunologist based in Sydney. She serves as Professor of Immunology and Allergy at Western Sydney University and as Head of Department and Senior Staff Specialist at Campbelltown Hospital. In addition, she runs a private clinical practice, providing specialist care for children and adults with a wide range of allergic and immunologic conditions.

Professor Katelaris has held numerous leadership roles within professional societies, including presidencies of the Asia Pacific Association of Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology and the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy. She has also been an active member of the World Allergy Organization Board.

Her academic interests include education and clinical research, particularly in ocular allergy, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, urticaria, angioedema, and severe asthma. She is also the convenor of the Master’s in Allergic Diseases program at Western Sydney University — the first postgraduate course of its kind in Australia.

Maria Bova graduated summa cum laude in 2001 with an MD degree from the University of
Naples. She received a specialization in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 2005 at the
University of Naples. During this period she spent some months as a Postdoctoral Fellow
at the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore,
USA. In 2009 she received a PhD in clinical and experimental pathophysiology from the
University of Naples focused on treating patients with hereditary angioedema. From 2006
to 2020 she worked as a Medical Officer in the Internal and Emergency Medicine
department at Villa MaltaHospital Sarno, Salerno, and since 2010 to 2020 she has acted
as a Medical consultant at CISI (Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca in Scienze
Immunologiche di Base e Cliniche)- University of Naples Federico II. She is a lecturer in
the Physiopathology of Allergic Diseases for Specialization in Clinical Immunology and
Allergy at University of Naples Federico II, and a general pathology lecturer for the general
practitioner and pediatric nursing registered degree at the University of Naples. Since 2021
she works at Department of Internal Medicine, Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit,
AORN Antonio Cardarelli, Naples, Italy. Her clinical and research activity is mainly focused
on angioedema and urticaria.
She is part of the board of the EAACI Dermatology Section (in the past term she was
board secretary). She has been involved in many activities of EAACI mentorship
programme.
She has been an investigator on many clinical studies of diagnostic and therapeutic
approaches to angioedema and mastocytosis. She authored about 70 peer reviewed
articles on her research topic.
