Prof. Dr. Torsten Zuberbier is a world-renowned expert in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Professor of Dermatology and Allergy, and President of GA²LEN (Global Allergy and Asthma Excellence Network).

With decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and international guideline development, he is recognized for his contributions to the understanding and management of allergic diseases, including chronic urticaria, allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, and food allergies.

Prof. Thomsen researches chronic inflammatory skin diseases, including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and chronic urticaria. His interests include disease epidemiology, biomarkers, biologic therapies, telehealth, AI applications, and research methodology. He leads and collaborates on numerous national and international studies, contributing to clinical innovation and scientific advancement in dermatology.

Professor Dr. Michihiro Hide is a leading dermatologist and immunologist, currently serving as Director of Hiroshima City Hiroshima Citizens Hospital. Born in Hiroshima, he earned his MD and PhD from Hiroshima University in 1988.

He pursued postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, USA) and St Thomas’ Hospital (London, UK), where he investigated mast cells and IgG autoantibodies against FcεRI in chronic spontaneous urticaria. From 2001 to 2021, he was Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Hiroshima University.

Prof. Hide’s ongoing clinical and research activities focus on atopic dermatitis, urticaria, and angioedema. He has authored numerous scientific publications and remains internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the pathophysiology and treatment of allergic skin diseases.

Professor Dr. Angèle Soria is a dermatologist and allergist at Sorbonne University and University Hôpital Tenon (AP-HP) in Paris. She leads the internationally recognized centers of excellence Tenon UCARE and Tenon ACARE, both specialized in urticaria and angioedema care and research.

Her scientific work focuses on immunological mechanisms of skin diseases, within the INSERM U1155 research unit. Clinically, she specializes in atopic and allergic skin disorders such as chronic and acute urticaria, angioedema, contact eczema, atopic dermatitis, and drug allergies.

PD Dr. Hanna Bonnekoh is a board-certified dermatologist and allergist and currently serves as Head of Translational Research at the Institute of Allergology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Her research focuses on common conditions such as acute and chronic urticaria, as well as rare diseases including urticarial vasculitis and autoinflammatory disorders.
In her clinical work, she employs cutting-edge treatments for complex inflammatory skin diseases.
Through her translational research, she aims to bridge scientific discovery with clinical practice, ultimately improving patient care.

Research Track and Relevant Expertise

Professor Paulo Ricardo Criado is an internationally recognized
dermatologist-scientist with extensive expertise in urticaria,
urticarial vasculitis, cutaneous vasculitis, and immune-mediated
inflammatory skin diseases. His work integrates clinical dermatology,
dermatopathology, and translational immunology, with particular emphasis
on mast cell disorders, vascular inflammation, and the interface between
dermatology and systemic disease.

He has authored seminal contributions on the clinical spectrum,
pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and management of urticarial
vasculitis. His research has advanced understanding of the distinctions
between urticarial vasculitis and chronic spontaneous urticaria,
biomarkers of disease activity, complement-mediated mechanisms, and
thrombo-inflammatory pathways. He has also contributed to the recognition
of infectious triggers, including SARS-CoV-2-associated urticarial
vasculitis.

His broader expertise in vasculitis encompasses clinicopathological
correlation, dermatologic diagnosis of systemic vasculitic syndromes, and
the development of practical diagnostic frameworks for cutaneous
small-vessel vasculitis. Through his scholarly work, he has significantly
contributed to improving diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic
decision-making in inflammatory vascular dermatoses.
