About Prof. Dr. Michihiro Hide
Professor Dr. Michihiro Hide is a leading dermatologist and immunologist, currently serving as Director of Hiroshima City Hiroshima Citizens Hospital. Born in Hiroshima, he earned his MD and PhD from Hiroshima University in 1988.
He pursued postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, USA) and St Thomas’ Hospital (London, UK), where he investigated mast cells and IgG autoantibodies against FcεRI in chronic spontaneous urticaria. From 2001 to 2021, he was Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Hiroshima University.
Prof. Hide’s ongoing clinical and research activities focus on atopic dermatitis, urticaria, and angioedema. He has authored numerous scientific publications and remains internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the pathophysiology and treatment of allergic skin diseases.
